Tip of the Day. Why doesn't gaffers tape leave adhesive residue like duct tape? Duct tape uses a natural rubber adhesive. Gaffers tape uses a much higher quality synthetic adhesive that doesn't leave a gummy residue when it is removed.

Want to keep adhesive off your cables?

Never pull a cable up by ripping it through your gaffers tape. That will assure that you get adhesive residue on your tape.

Need to remove tape from a painted surface without damaging the paint?

Pull the tape gently at a 45 degree angle from the surface you need to protect?

Need the Strong Stuff?

Sometimes you need a stronger bond than duct tape. Give Gorilla tape a try. It creates a bond twice as strong as duct tape..

Wide Tape can be a good thing.

If you find yourself needing more than one strip of tape to hold down your cables, try a wider width. Using 3 inch or 4 inch wide gaffers tape saves time and money.

Painters Grade is better.

If you plan to leave masking tape in place for more than 24 hours, use painters grade tape. It won’t dry out like utility grade tape.

Need to attach something directly to a hot stage light?

Permacel Professional Grade gaffers tape has a special high temperature adhesive.

Got lint on that dark blue blue suit?

Make a quick lint remover by wrapping a couple of turns of duct tape, sticky side out, around your hand. Pat off the lint and just throw the tape away.
